Anthony James Residential estate agents (AJR) are a highly respected independent estate and letting agent covering London and the South East. Established in 2003, their comprehensive residential property services include sales, lettings and full property management.

The Challenge

AJR had seen great success in recent years and were looking to expand their operation from their base in London to more sites across the South East. This expansion was brilliant for the team, but it raised some new challenges. The first and foremost was that without the right technology, the team couldn’t make the most of their multiple sites. Calls needed to be routed correctly to each site, and there needed to be measures taken to ensure that no calls were missed. If your sites aren’t connected, then they essentially function as separate businesses.

The second challenge they faced was that they did not have a comprehensive disaster recovery plan in place. If a site was inaccessible for any reason, from a power outage to a global pandemic, there wasn’t a system in place that allowed them to pick up their work from another location. They also required backups for their essential systems.

Finally, their previous system led to some high call costs that could be reduced with the right alternative.

The Solution

AJR contacted RHM for a consultation about technology that could meet these needs. Being the communications experts that we are, we had a few suggestions in mind that helped make a real difference for the team.

In fact, it was a single solution that helped to solve their communication challenges. We suggested a hosted cloud communication system from Gamma Horizon. The cloud system came with a number of benefits for a team like AJR.

The first was that it effectively linked the two sites. Using a cloud-based system meant that the same service could be provided across both sites, with very quick installation times. Calls could be routed seamlessly between each office, even during the busiest peak times. Cloud communications operate over the internet rather than through fixed lines, massively reducing the call rates that the teams faced.

This new communication service also addressed the need for a disaster recovery plan. In the case that either site was inaccessible, staff can access the same great communication features from home. For estate agents, the ability to work on the go is crucial. With their new service, they can twin their mobiles with their office handset. This means they can access all their contacts and data from their phone systems wherever they are. It also improves availability for when customers need to get in touch.
