RHM supports many primary, secondary and private schools across the country and as such has developed a good understanding of their communication needs.

The majority of our experience covers schools and colleges supporting ages 4 – 18. We work alongside schools and colleges of any scale to develop a tailored communication platform that can support them for years to come.

SIMS

We understand that most UK schools use SIMS or Arbor Education as their preferred database system. As such, our communication services offer full integration with SIMS and Arbor Education. This allows administration staff to enhance their productivity and solve incoming enquiries in a more efficient way.

JANET

Colleges often connect to the Internet via the Education Network – JANET. RHM’s Cloud Telephony and SIP Trunk solutions can also be delivered through JANET to create one seamless experience. This ensures quality of service and means there is no need to install a second Internet connection to deliver your communication services.

Costs

We understand that organisations within the education sector must carefully plan their budgets. That’s why for our education sector services we prioritise value for money.

RHM offers schools and colleges very low cost PAYG Mobile SIMs for emergency or contact only phones across all four major UK networks. Facilitating cost-effective and versatile mobile communications.

In terms of connectivity, RHM offers Internet service from Broadband all the way up to 10 gigabit circuits at competitive rates. We understand that schools typically have a need for high bandwidth, high availability circuits and our connectivity solutions provide this with ease.

For telephony we can offer a new Cloud based platform on a PAYG per user basis where capital expenditure is tight, or if capital budget is available, we can provide traditional on-site telephony with one initial payment and very low ongoing residual costs.

Infrastructure

Some schools often face infrastructure challenges if their current telephony is hosted on traditional voice cabling. In this situation, installing new data cabling to facilitate an IP phone service can be very costly.

We have helped many schools with this challenge by providing hybrid solutions whereby we can mix and match analogue, digital and IP handsets depending on the available infrastructure. Our solution enables us to install remote modules into various data cabinets across site that connect the school’s network to a central location.

If a school is determined to move to Cloud but cabling in certain locations is preventing them from doing so, we can install remote Digital or Analogue modules in the data cabinets, and these can then connect to the Cloud via the Internet.

Call handling

We know that at peak times schools and colleges struggle to handle inbound call volumes. The classic Monday morning peak and early mornings are generally very busy.

We help schools to deal with the rush by setting up call queuing and support for callers waiting to be answered. 

One of these support measures is giving parents the option to self-service, this could be done by routing through to an absence line where messages can be left. We also provide a professional messaging service that provides incoming callers with essential information automatically, helping to relieve the pressure on your reception team.

Certain periods of the year can also be very challenging for schools and colleges, such as exam results day or college inductions. For these circumstances we can also provide call handling solutions to help your staff plan follow-up calls and bookings whilst making sure callers are addressed in a timely manner.

Mobile packages

RHM has access to all major UK networks and has the ability to pull together packages to suit your business needs and profile. We can either give you access to the standard tariffs available from the carriers but billed and supported by RHM, or we can design you a bespoke tariff using your own billing system.

If you have challenging coverage issues, we can even give you the abillity to mix and match carriers, all billed and supported by us via our helpdesk team.

In terms of devices RHM has set up a number of key trade accounts with SIM free hardware providers. This enables you to leverage our trade discounts and choose from virtually any mobile device on the market, from mobile phone to smart phone to tablet. In addition we support all operating systems from Android to IOS to Windows and Blackberry.

Mobile device management

RHM offer a managed MDM solution through IBM’s Maas360.

Text messaging is a well-established medium for business-to-business and business-to-consumer communication. Not only is it a proven marketing tool, it’s time efficient compared to making phone calls or sending costly mailings.

We can provide SMS management, delivery and receipt through a web-based application, email gateway, Software API or hosted SMS relay services.

SMS Web Gateway integrates with your existing applications to enable the sending of SMS messages over the internet. Messages can be sent directly from any web browser via any web-enabled device. The Gateway automatically routes messages to mobile phone networks and supports media conversion from email and other formats.
